Crystal & Nate

July 16, 2010

These two are so much fun, the whole day we had a blast!  The ceremony was in Galesburg at First United Methodist, and the reception was at Knox College. The campus was gorgeous, with lots of very cool old buildings. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day.

Abby & Scott

July 3, 2010

Hope you’re all having a great 4th of July weekend! Thought I’d share a few of my favorite pictures from Abby & Scott’s wedding last weekend before I head off to the Blues Fest.

Aren’t these two adorable! They’re big Cubs fans so we had to stop at the sign in Davenport. They had matching Cubs shirts on for their engagement session, where we got one of my all time favorite pictures of Abby biting off Scott’s nose.

Their wedding took place at Pebble Creek Golf Course in LeClaire, with a reception at The Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf.  It was an amazing wedding, Abby really put a lot of work into the details to come up with something really unique.  Her wedding dress was probably the most uniquely gorgeous dress I’ve ever seen, and she looked amazing in it.

Aren’t they cute!

Check out the letters Abby put together! Loved it. :)

Here’s my favorite photobooth picture ever! This guy wins for craziest pictures, the whole night he was hamming it up.

A special thanks to Jeremy Ford of River Cities Wedding Photography for helping out & running the photobooth for the evening.

I’ll finish up with a picture from the first dance, which is always one of my favorite parts of the night. So romantic.

Kathleen & Josh

June 27, 2010

Wedding season is in full swing & I’m way behind on blog posting.  This lovely couple tied the knot a few weeks ago at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport.  What a gorgeous church, I hadn’t shot there since they remodeled. They had their reception at Stoney Creek Inn in Moline. We were lucky enough to have a break in the rain to get out to Vandaveer Park & shoot some portraits.  Here are a few of my favorites of from the day.

This will be another short one, I have so much to catch up on. Cory & I just got back from Las Vegas for a much needed vacation celebrating our 10 year anniversary. We had a blast & I have so many pictures to share. I also still have more to share from Crystal & Nate’s E-session a few weeks ago, so look out for those. For now I thought I’d share the first few picks from Jessica & Lance’s engagement shoot yesterday. I’m so happy the rain stopped for these, we’ve had some bad luck with rain the last few weeks. I hope we’re done with it.

Cory took the adorable shot above, they look so cute together!

Here’s the whole crew!  These two sure made some adorable little guys! Can’t wait to see them all dressed up for the wedding in July!

Just a quick preview before I head to bed.  I want to thank Crystal & Nate for being so good humored today!
Thanks to my good friend &  photographer Shannon Colgan from Shaze Impressions for helping me out!

More to come

This Saturday Jenny & Ben had a gorgeous ceremony at First Presbyterian Church in Davenport with a reception at amazing The University Club.  We were so lucky to get to share in their special day.  Jenny & Ben were so sweet & we had so much fun working with them.  Here’s a few of my favorite pictures from the day.

Jenny looked so beautiful!

Love the back of the cake topper! LOL. Cory took this one.

Now for the goofy stuff!

We set up a photo booth for Jenny & Ben with some crazy props! I had my friend Teresa Ousely of Wiz of Oz Photography help me out & run the booth. She sure got some crazy shots!

I guess table 12 was the place to be.

What a cutie!!

I don’t even want to know what that was.

Cory took this one of Teresa & I right before we tore everything down.  We’re bringing sexy back. Scary.

I want to thank the DJ from SAS Entertainment for helping us out with announcing the booth. Also thank you to The University Club for helping me get the space figured out, they’ve probably become my favorite reception hall, EVER!

I’ll finish up with something pretty!

More to come…

I’m so happy for her! Heather & Brent seem perfect for each other, and they’re super cute together. I’m happy she’s got someone else to look after her, since she’s been looking out for me for as long as I can remember. She’s one of the most caring people I know.

I feel a little bad, this was probably one of the most difficult e-sessions I’ve ever had.  Sunday was gorgeous all day, and about 5:00 I’m driving to Heather’s house & the sky starts looking a bit dark. By the time we get to her house we have to change plans to try to beat the storm.  We made it down to the river for a few minutes before it started pouring.  Then we stopped at Lavender Crest Winery & the owners were nice enough to let us, even though they were closed!

You probably can’t tell it, but it’s pouring outside of the gazebo and the wind was whipping all over the place. I’m glad they were willing to brave the weather though because in the end we got some great pictures & I wound up experimenting a lot more with off camera light a lot more than I would have. I love a good challenge!

trishia: Love them! The one of them holding each other under the gazebo is absolutely gorgeous, love the bw and the sunlight shining through... beautiful :)

Robin & Ben

April 18, 2010

I love fun couples! I think we had a great time hanging out & I’m really pumped for there wedding in September. Robin writes some of the most entertaining e-mails.
What a gorgeous day for a photoshoot too, if we can just keep the weather just like this I’ll be one happy photographer.

Robin & I really wanted some purple flowers, so we met up at Lindsay Park in Davenport.

Then we headed over to Illinois for the rest of these.

I love how peaceful Robin looks in this next one.  Gorgeous!

Does anyone remember pop-up videos? Good times. If there was a pop-up for this next image it would say something like “Photographer almost stepped on a headless dead fish while shooting this image.” Not kidding, I’m not quite sure how it got there. What’s funny is that Cory yelled out “Don’t step on the dead fish” while I was shooting & I continued because I just thought he was trying to make Robin & Ben laugh. :)

For this next series of images, I just told Robin & Ben to go do something cute. I’m pretty sure I heard one of them say “I don’t know how to be cute.”

WRONG, way too cute! :)

This next one is one of my favorite images EVER.

qcmama: I know you probably already know this but you are absolutely amazing! I love your use of light and the colors you get are gorgeous! I can only dream as being as good as you one day. Thanks for sharing your awesome gift for all of us to see.

Caitlin – Senior shoot

April 11, 2010

I’m sooo happy for spring, I get pretty antsy during the winter waiting to start shooting again! Today was absolutely gorgeous, blue sky and some lovely golden sunlight.

I got to meet up with Caitlin and her mom for her senior pictures today. Caitlin gets some bonus points today because she wasn’t feeling well & she still put up with us. On top of that I found out she was an “America’s next top model” fan too and I put her through the worst Tyra Banks impression that’s ever been done. :) The poor girl still managed to look gorgeous!

Here’s a quick preview.
